Art Around Town

I don't know about you, but I love seeing the painted utility boxes around town. It brings a touch of humanity to street corners. I know the person who is in charge of some of the painted utility boxes here in San Diego and one day I hope to paint one myself. There is one in particular that is one of my favorites. I pass it almost daily when I go for my run and one day I stopped to take a picture. It's just lovely.

My cousins were in town from Syracuse New York so of course we had to take them to the Zoo. Night time at the Zoo in the summer can be such a magical place. There is an artist there who paints a large painting within 8 minutes. He paints to music and uses both hands to brush on the paint and then uses his hands to spread the paint around all the while playing the fun music. It was very entertaining and amazing at the same time. His art is called Splash – Faces of the Wild.

It's been 5 days since my birthday. Birthdays used to be such an enormous entity in my life. I LOVE birthdays. This year however, not so much. Weird. Of course I truly believe age is just a number and we can all be a bunch of crazy kids running around screaming for cake and silly games but this year...hmmmm.

So, that being said, I have been wanting to create a blog for so long but who would read it? Well, I decided to just go ahead and start one anyway and if no one reads it that's OK.

There are no shortcuts to anyplace worth going....
