Yahoo, new art came in the post today! Let's take a look and see what it is! Loving that frayed pink ribbon...

This is a painting/collage I bought from Jill over at Things With Wings, a fabulous blog that shows fun artwork created by three sisters and their mom! Check them out, you will not be disappointed! This piece of art really spoke to me and once I saw it, I had to have it. I'll blog more about the significant meaning in another post because for now I am in the midst of a food coma from a birthday dinner with my niece.
Sadly, I attended a funeral today. This one was for another young mom who passed away last week after a long and arduous battle with breast cancer. I didn't know her very well but what I did know of, I liked immensely. She was a fellow artist and an event planner, a life of the party kind of gal, bringing joy and light wherever she went.
I first met her at our school's fundraising meeting and loved her enthusiasm and ideas. Shortly I found out she had metastatic cancer and was just beginning a battle, so when I saw her repeatedly at meetings I discovered a lovely person with a heart for giving. She kept giving of herself, even when she could rightly demand a little taking. She inspired me.
She painted this picture of herself years ago. Very talented this lady was. Hopefully her little twin girls inherited some of that talent!
She also planned her own funeral. Event planning up until the very end. Who wouldn't want to ride out of life in style like this?
How about you? Do you ever have happiness intermingle with sadness in one day?
Monday's Gratitude:
I am so grateful for a delightful son who will sit very quietly through a long funeral service.

I totally know Jill! How awesome is that!
"I am enough." That is so appropriate right now. Love it! So sorry to hear of the sadness...I am grateful that you were willing to share both the joy and the sadness with us on your blog.
